Preschool
Our inviting preschool room invites your child into their fun, loud and exciting environment. This classroom is our most independent classroom here at King. The children are encouraged to move through the daily activity centres provided for them throughout the classroom. These centres have been carefully planned by the preschool educators to help expand on their learning of colours, numbers and letters. The centres in this program range from sensory, creative, science, dramatic play, free play, music & movement etc. In this classroom you will see your child’s vocabulary expand immensely. Here they will learn social and emotional skills as well as important self help skills.
The preschool room has a ratio of 1:8 educators to children. King Academy has two preschool rooms, one of them being at the front of our centre and our larger preschool room with a maximum capacity of 16 children and 2 educators. Meanwhile our smaller preschool classroom is located at the back of our centre and has a capacity of 8 children with one educator. Our preschool educators have over 15 years of experience in this field working with young children.
Daily communication with parents is a high priority for us here at King Academy. We foster this connection through Lillio (formally HiMama), an app that allows our staff to update parents with essential information about their child’s eating, drinking, sleeping and diapering needs. This feature enables parents to receive updates throughout the day, creating a seamless flow of communication. Moreover, parents and educators can directly communicate with each other through the app, ensuring that everyone stays connected and informed about their child’s progress.
The preschoolers will engage in fun experiences like running, jumping, climbing, and dancing both inside and outside the classroom. The preschooler spend a minimum of 2 hours outside each day as per ministry requirements. The preschools often enjoy the open playground at the back of our centre where they have the freedom to run, jump and play outdoor games with their friends. The preschoolers also enjoy going on nature walks around our community.
